By a court ruling, the media has deleted all of its erroneous information and formally apologized to Sun, who has long been the subject of false claims made by the media.

The story made several allegations against Sun, including that he “was under investigation by the IRS and the FBI,” “was involved in insider trading,” and “fled abroad to evade the ICO ban.” The unfounded piece spread rapidly, was picked up by numerous other media sites, and seriously harmed Sun’s and the TRON ecosystem’s reputations.

The People’s Court of China examined every aspect of the case during the trial, including the original The Verge piece, the media’s recreation of its content, and the interpretations offered by all other domestic media during replication. The Verge’s piece lacked any hard evidence at all, while the Media’s coverage lacked any factual foundation, the court found, significantly harming Sun’s reputation.
The court emphasized that the author was the only one who could vouch for the validity of the original article, and the article itself stated that none of the previously named authorities had verified any of the facts. The People’s Court of China concluded in its final decision that there is no evidence to support any of the allegations made against Sun’s purported involvement in insider trading, fraud, money laundering, or any other purported investigations or wrongdoings.
Throughout this two-year conflict, every fabrication put forth by the media was proven to be untrue. Due process has taken a long time, but in the end.
